Karena prospek kerjanya luas, Kalian dapat menemukan berbagai pilihan karier usai menyelesaikan studi di jurusan Teknologi Pangan. Beberapa pilihan karier yang dapat dipilih di antaranya:
1. Pengembangan produk
Karier di bidang pengembangan produk pangan bisa dikatakan memiliki persaingan yang ketat. Tidak semua lulusan baru dapat diterima berkarier di bidang ini. Ibaratnya, mereka yang bekerja di divisi pengembangan produk adalah pemegang resep rahasia produk. Bahkan, tidak jarang, gaji pegawai yang bekerja di bidang ini lebih tinggi dibanding pimpinan perusahaan.
Jenjang karier untuk bidang pengembangan produk pun cukup menjanjikan. Posisi tertinggi yang dapat diraih staf di divisi pengembangan produk adalah Chef Technical Officer (CTO) atau bisa disebut juga sebagai Direktur Teknik.
Jumlah pegawai di divisi pengembangan produk pun tidak terlalu banyak. Biasanya, untuk satu produk, hanya diperlukan maksimal dua orang staf. Jika ada 10 produk yang akan dikembangkan, maka satu divisi bisa dihuni 20 orang staff.
2. Konsultan gizi dan pangan
Kalian bisa menyalurkan ilmu yang dimiliki dengan menjadi konsultan gizi dan pangan, baik untuk individu maupun perusahaan yang bergelut di bidang pangan. Untuk dapat berkarier sebagai konsultan gizi dan pangan, kalian harus memiliki pengetahuan mendasar seputar ilmu gizi, teknik pengolahan makanan, permasalahan konsumsi gizi, standar kelayakan produk pangan, serta pengetahuan mendalam seputar tren konsumsi pangan dari waktu ke waktu. Kalian juga harus memiliki kemampuan berbicara di muka umum, keahlian interpersonal, serta mampu menyampaikan gagasan rumit sesederhana mungkin agar dapat dipahami banyak orang.
